Sahara Ventures partnered with Access2Innovation, a Danish non-profit and member-based organisation that aims to strengthen knowledge and development through commercial sustainable solutions targeting developing markets and relief aid, to matchmake Tanzanian SMEs with Danish technology companies. The event's goal was to encourage the adoption of the latest and high-end technologies by Tanzanian companies to increase productivity and efficiency.

Sahara Ventures goal is to redefine capital; Capital is not just cash. The knowledge and exposure to the latest and more productive technologies will help leapfrog Africa’s SMEs sector. The knowledge capital is as important to local SMEs as cash injection. Most SMEs in Tanzania struggles with production capacity due to the lack of the latest technologies. Our partnership with Access2Innovation will see more strategic collaboration between Danish and Tanzanian businesses.

In Tanzania, studies have revealed that post-harvest losses range between
15–40% depending on the type of crop — ANSAF.

Technology transfer and research commercialization by local universities will help to address many problems facing the value chain in different sectors including; agriculture and food security, real estate and housing, energy and renewables, small scale industries, etc.

Sahara Ventures and Access2Innovation is looking to continue this collaboration, building on the marketplace's encouraging more technology adoption by local SMEs in Tanzania.
